Iron-Packed Meatballs for Babies and Adults

Ingredients

Beef meatballs

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp dried herbs such as marjoram or rosemary or oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic granules or 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 egg

Lentil meatballs

  • 250g cooked Puy lentils
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp garlic granules or 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp breadcrumbs

Preparation

  1. Sautee the onion in the oil.

  2. Add all ingredients together in a bowl and mix.

  3. Shape the mixture into small balls.

  4. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.

  5. For lentil meatballs, pair with a vitamin C rich food such as roasted peppers, broccoli, or a homemade tomato sauce, or serve with strawberries or kiwi fruit.
