Mascarpone Yeast Pastry Rolls
Ingredients
Dough
- 250ml milk
- 20g fresh yeast
- 100g sugar
- 1 egg
- 50g soft butter
- 550g type 450 flour
Filling
- 250g mascarpone cheese
- 30g sugar
- 1 egg
- 150g vanilla-flavored cheese or yogurt
- 1 packet cream pudding mix
Glaze
- 1 tablespoon cream or Greek yogurt
- 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar
Preparation
Make a starter by combining slightly warmed milk and yeast, then set aside for 10-15 minutes until the yeast activates
Add the remaining dough ingredients and knead the dough
Set the dough aside to rise for 1 hour
For the filling, mix the cheeses with sugar and dry pudding mix
Roll out the dough into a large rectangle and trim if necessary
Spread the prepared filling over the dough, roll it up like a log, and cut into 4-5 cm pieces
Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with paper and set aside to rise for 30-60 minutes
Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until golden brown
Drizzle with glaze made from cream or Greek yogurt mixed with powdered sugar
Tips
Yeast dough requires time to rise properly and shortcuts should be avoided
