Mastering Stovetop Rice with Easy Steps

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1.5 cups broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Preparation

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a medium-sized saucepan and heat over medium heat.

  2. Once hot, add 1 cup of rice and cook, stirring, for about 90 seconds.

  3. Add 1.5 cups of broth (water works too) plus 1 teaspoon sea salt and bring to a boil.

  4. Stir, cover, reduce the heat to low, and let simmer for 15 minutes undisturbed.

  5. Remove from heat and let sit with the cover on for another 10 minutes; then remove lid, stir, and serve with your favorite meal.

Tips

  1. To prevent burning, ensure you turn down the heat to low after it comes to a boil.

  2. The rice does not stick to the bottom of the pot, making it easy to clean.
