Rava Upma- Convenient

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Suji/ rava
  • 1 tsp of mustard seeds
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 or more chopped green chillies
  • 1tsp each of groundnuts
  • roasted chana
  • 5-6 cashews
  • 1 finely chopped onion and carrot
  • 3 cups of water

Preparation

  1. Roast 1 cup of Suji/ rava in the wok till the aroma comes

  2. Don't make it very dark in color

  3. Transfer it to another vessel

  4. In the wok, add some ghee, let it become hot

  5. Now add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, few curry leaves, 1 or more chopped green chillies

  6. Let it splutter and keep the flame low, now add 1tsp each of groundnuts, roasted chana dal and 5-6 cashews

  7. Keep on stirring and now add 1 finely chopped onion and carrot

  8. You can add peas too

  9. Add salt and let it cook for 15 min at a low flame

  10. Once onions become translucent and carrots become soft

  11. Add roasted rava and mix everything together

  12. Now add 3 cups of water

  13. Check salt now, you can add more salt at this time

  14. Keep on stirring till rava absorbs all water and gets cook

  15. Serve hot with with coconut chutney/ chutney of your choice
