Wheat Sticks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour - 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  • salt - to taste
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter ghee
  • water to knead the dough
  • oil for frying

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, add flour, carom seeds and mix well

  2. Add salt and mix

  3. Into it add ghee and mix with the flour well

  4. Add little water gradually and as required and knead into a thick dough

  5. Set it aside for 15-20 minutes

  6. Mix the dough again to get smooth texture

  7. Take a medium size portion of the dough

  8. Make a round ball

  9. Dust some flour on rolling board

  10. Roll out the dough like a thin chapathi

  11. Cut the roti into long strips

  12. Heat oil in wok to deep fry

  13. Put the cut strip into the oil

  14. Fry them until they turn slight yellow color on medium to low heat

  15. Remove them from oil and place them on a tissue paper

  16. Serve them with tea
