Steamed Bao Buns
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm soy milk ( i used mylk labs from @floria_tradingbh )
- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active yeast
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 + 1 tablespoons sesame oil ( or any oil)
- bonsan jackfruit filling ( from @marketplace.lw)
Preparation
Mix warm milk ( must be warm ) with 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast
Set aside for 10 minutes
Mix remaining ingredients except 1 tablespoon sesame oil and filling
Knead for 5-6 minutes then let rest for 1-2 hours
Divide dough as desired ( makes about 16 small or 8 large balls ) and roll into balls
Shape as desired ( either fill the balls or roll into bao buns and place on baking paper)
Steam in hot steamer for 15 minutes and enjoy
