Health benefits
Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica, native to West Africa, and was brought to the Caribbean in the 18th century.
It is rich in fiber, which helps regulate bowel movements, reduce bloating, cramping, constipation, and inflammation, and may lower bad cholesterol levels to boost heart health.
Ackee contains potassium that acts as a vasodilator to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of arteriosclerosis.
It improves blood circulation due to high iron content, which aids oxygen delivery and can alleviate anemia symptoms like weakness, lightheadedness, and cognitive issues.
