Burnt Sugar Chai Spice Chia Custards

Ingredients

  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 6 t whole chia seeds (i used @salbachia)
  • 1/2 cup medjool dates
  • 1 t vanilla extract, paste, or powder
  • Cinnamon
  • Raw or coconut sugar

Preparation

  1. Warm coconut milk until almost boiling

  2. Add chia tea bags and steep 5-10 minutes and remove

  3. Add remaining ingredients to blender and blend on high speed for one minute, or until very smooth and creamy

  4. Pour into 4 little custard or tart dishes

  5. Let set at least 1 hour

  6. Sprinkle with raw unrefined or coconut sugar and cinnamon

  7. Turn oven to broil

  8. Place custard or tart dishes on baking pan and broil for a few minutes until sugar on top is just starts to burn

  9. Remove

  10. Cool
