Fig Chia Jam

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh figs, chopped
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Add the figs to a pan with a splash of water

  2. Bring to a boil while stirring, lower the heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stir occasionally

  3. Once the figs are soft, take the pan off the heat and add the honey or maple syrup

  4. Taste it and adjust with more maple syrup if desired

  5. Mash the figs using a fork to a chunky consistency

  6. Stir in the chia seeds and let cool in the pan for 15 minutes

  7. The jam will thicken while it cools

  8. Store the jam in an airtight container in the fridge for about one week

  9. Serve with chia pudding, oarmeal, pancakes or cheese

  10. Enjoy!!
