Homemade Hidden Veg Cheese Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 courgette
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • To serve: bread buns, sliced cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, gherkins, ketchup or tomato chutney

Preparation

  1. Grate the onion, carrot and courgette, then squeeze as much liquid out as possible

  2. Place the beef mince, grated veg and all other ingredients in a large bowl and mix until just combined

  3. Divide into 6 and flatten to make burgers patties. Place an indent in the centre of each burger using your thumb (this stops the burger from shrinking)

  4. Cook in a non stick frying pan or on a BBQ for around 4 mins on one side, then flip and cook for a further 3 or 4 mins until cooked through
