Spiced Apple and Pear Porridge

Ingredients

  • 100g rolled or porridge oats
  • 500ml almond milk (or milk of your choice)
  • 1 apple, grated
  • 1 pear, peeled and chopped into small pieces
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Put the grated apple, chopped pear, allspice and cinnamon into a pan on a low heat stirring for 30 seconds to release the aromas

  2. Add the milk and oats to the pan and simmer for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally

  3. Remove from the hob, add the maple syrup and stir through

  4. Serve warm with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top
