Beans Poriyal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced beans
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp asafoedtida powder
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp musturd seeds
  • handful of curry leaves
  • 3/4 cup fresh grated coconut

Preparation

  1. Wash and chop beans into small dices

  2. Heat oil (used musturd oil here) in a pan and add Hing, musturd seeds curry leaves and dry red chillies

  3. Let everything crackle and cook for 2 min

  4. Add chopped beans and salt

  5. Mix it and cover the pan for 10 min

  6. When beans become tender, add fresh grated coconut and further cook till the beans are completely soft
