New Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • * 1/4 cups cashews, unsalted
  • * 1/4 cup walnuts, unsalted * 1 cup almond milk, unsweetened * 3 tbsp minced garlic * 3/4 cup water * 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • * 1 small jar of tomato sauce * 1 tbsp cayenne powder (optional)
  • * Tbsp olive oil * Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Boil 3/4 of a cup water and let cashews and walnuts soak for about 20 minute

  2. After they are finished soaking blend together with water and nutritional yeast until smooth

  3. Turn pan on medium heat and add your garlic and olive oil, sautée for about 2 minutes

  4. Add almond milk, cashew and walnut blend, tomato sauce, cayenne powder, salt and pepper to pan

  5. I used this simple tomato sauce from Trader Joe’s (swipe for picture)

  6. I only used about 70% of the jar to avoid overpowering sauce with tomato

  7. Heat together for 3 minutes and add to pasta! This amount makes enough for a whole pot of pasta; I made a box
