Baked Cauliflower with Béchamel Sauce

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower

Seasoning mix

  • 1 cup olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon parsley (dried or fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Béchamel sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Toppings

  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. Clean the cauliflower and cut it into slices.

  2. Mix the seasoning ingredients and coat the cauliflower with the mixture.

  3. Place the coated cauliflower in a baking dish and bake in the oven at medium heat for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Prepare the béchamel sauce by melting the butter, cooking it with the flour, adding the milk and stirring until thickened, then adding the garlic and nutmeg, and removing from heat.

  5. Pour the béchamel sauce over the cauliflower, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
