Chicken Macaroni with Béchamel
Ingredients
- 500 grams penne pasta
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 500 grams chicken fillet cut into small cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon curry or mixed spices
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Béchamel
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 1/3 cup flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- A pinch of nutmeg
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a large baking dish
Boil the pasta, place it in a bowl, and sprinkle some salt on it
For the chicken, in a skillet heat the butter, add the chicken and stir for a few minutes until it browns slightly, then add salt, pepper, oregano, and curry, cover the skillet and leave for a few minutes to cook
For the béchamel, in a saucepan heat the butter, oil, and flour, stir until golden, then add milk while continuing to stir to make a smooth liquid sauce, add salt, nutmeg, and cheese
Place the chicken over the pasta, add some béchamel, and stir to mix
In the baking dish, put some béchamel and add half the amount of pasta
Sprinkle a generous layer of cheese
Spread some béchamel
Spread the remaining pasta
Sprinkle the cheese
Put the remaining béchamel
Place in the oven for an hour until golden
