Baked Macaroni with Meat Sauce

Ingredients

  • 500 grams small pasta

Meat sauce

  • 2 tablespoons corn oil
  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1 teaspoon crushed chili
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

Preparation

  1. Set the wire rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a baking dish suitable for serving.

  2. In a shallow-rimmed tray, place the pasta and put it in the oven for 30 minutes until it toasts and turns golden brown.

  3. In a deep pot, place a generous amount of water. Add one tablespoon of salt and one tablespoon of corn oil. Place the pot over medium heat until the water boils vigorously.

  4. Add the pasta and let it cook for 10 minutes.

  5. For the meat mixture: In a medium-sized pot, place the oil and heat it over medium heat until hot.

  6. Add the ground meat and stir with a wooden spoon until it browns and its water evaporates.

  7. Add the onion and garlic. Stir for several minutes until the onion softens. Add the tomato paste, ketchup, salt, pepper, mixed spices, chili, and cumin. Stir the meat with the spices to mix well.

  8. Add the water and parsley. Let the meat cook with the water until it boils and the tomato sauce forms.

  9. Drain the pasta and place it in the baking dish. Add the meat mixture. Stir the pasta and meat to mix and integrate the ingredients well.

  10. Place the macaroni casserole in the oven for 30 minutes, then serve.
