Meat and Cheese Potato Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 500 grams ground meat
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon mixed spices
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 8 medium potatoes
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
Set the oven rack, preheat the oven to 180°C, and prepare a medium-sized baking dish.
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, cover with water, and boil until cooked and soft.
In a saucepan, heat the oil, add the meat, and stir until dry and cooked. Then add the onion, mixed spices, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.
In a bowl, place the hot potatoes, add salt, butter, and mash with a masher or two forks, gradually adding milk until smooth and homogeneous.
Place half of the mashed potatoes in the baking dish, then add the meat mixture and spread it in a layer over the potatoes.
Spread the cheese over the meat.
Place the remaining mashed potatoes in a piping bag and pipe it over the cheese.
Place the dish in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
