Apple Pie Crumble Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup oat flour or quick oats
  • 4 tbsp tahini (or other runny nut/seed butter) ***
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp apple pie spice or cinnamon
  • apple filling
  • 2 apples, sliced thin or into small cubes
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • juice of half a lemon
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • oat crumble
  • 1 1/4 cups rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp tahini or other nut/seed butter
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or other liquid sweetener
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. Grease a 8x8 baking pan or In a bowl

  3. Combine all base ingredients

  4. Stir together to get a thick batter

  5. Spoon all of batter from bowl into the bottom of your baking pan and spread out evenly until smooth

  6. N the same bowl you used for the base add sliced apples and top with all ingredients for the apple filling

  7. Toss together to coat evenly and layer apple slices to cover entire base

  8. Then pour any remaining liquid in the bowl over top

  9. In the same bowl, add the oat crumble ingredients and stir to combine until you get a nice crumbly mixture

  10. Pour mixture evenly over apple slices and spread out using your spatula or hands

  11. Once ready, place baking tray into the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes or until top layer of oats appear golden

  12. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before cutting even slices
