Spicy Sweet Sticky Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 4 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. Sriracha
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 navel orange, juiced
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Preparation

  1. Press tofu between a towel gently to remove as much liquid as possible

  2. Cut tofu into bite size cubes

  3. For the sauce, add all ingredients except tofu into a wide bowl and blend well

  4. Add tofu and gently toss and spoon sauce over thoroughly

  5. Allow to rest for optimum absorption of flavors

  6. Add neutral oil to a non-stick pan, bring to medium/high heat

  7. Spoon tofu into pan, reserving sauce

  8. Cook 8-10 minutes, stir to keep from sticking

  9. If you like your tofu firm you can place it in a 400 degree oven for 8 minutes now, otherwise pour remaining sauce over tofu just before serving
