Sticky Tofu with Maple Soy Glaze
Ingredients
- 1 block of extra firm tofu
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp. Sriracha
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 navel orange, juiced
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
Press tofu between a towel gently to remove as much liquid as possible.
Cut tofu into bite size cubes.
For the sauce add all ingredients except tofu into a wide bowl and blend well.
Add tofu and gently toss and spoon sauce over thoroughly.
Allow to rest for optimum absorption of flavors.
Add neutral oil to a non-stick pan, bring to medium/high heat.
Spoon tofu into pan, reserving sauce.
Cook 8-10 minutes, stir to keep from sticking.
If you like your tofu firm you can place it in a 400 degree oven for 8 minutes now. Otherwise, pour remaining sauce over tofu just before serving.
