Homemade Pickles with Fresh Seasonal Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 3 Persian cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • Fresh dill
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 4 cloves of garlic smashed
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp whole black pepper corn
  • 1/2 tsp whole mustard seeds

Preparation

  1. Chop up cucumbers and onion.

  2. Pack cucumbers, onion slices, and fresh dill into a mason jar, leaving 1/2 inch space on top for liquid.

  3. In a small pot, heat vinegar, water, salt, sugar, garlic, and spices.

  4. Simmer until salt and sugar dissolve.

  5. Cool the brine until warm.

  6. Fill the jar with brine until everything is covered.

  7. Close the lid tightly and refrigerate for 24 hours.

  8. Enjoy!
