Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of quick oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • pinch of cardamom
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk ?
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sweetener (optional, i like mine without)

Preparation

  1. To make oats creamy, feel free to either use quick oats or process the oats yourself in a food processor. In a sauce pan add your oats, banana, cinnamon, salt, flax seeds and milk. Bring to a simmer on low to medium heat and allow to heat through and thicken for 3 minutes. Remove from stove

  2. In a microwave safe dish, combine chia seeds, frozen mixed berries and sweetener. Place in microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Once cooked through, stir, mash and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken. You can do this step while you are waiting for your oats to cook or before cooking your oats
