Chamomile Ginger Turmeric Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons honey (sub maple syrup or 6-8 drops stevia, or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon grassfed butter (sub coconut oil)
  • Scant pinch black pepper
  • Scant pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 inch piece fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon arrowroot starch (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add 1/2 cup water and almond milk to a small saucepan.

  2. Add tea bag to a large heat-proof mug or glass mason jar and add the boiling mixture.

  3. Steep for 5-10 minutes (longer for stronger chamomile flavor), then discard tea bag.

  4. Add the steeped tea and all remaining ingredients to a blender.

  5. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  6. If not warm enough, return to saucepan, bring to a simmer, and serve.
