Authentic Simple Flavorful Roasted Salsa Roja

Ingredients

  • 5 small/medium Tomatoes
  • 1/2 White Onion
  • 3 Arbol Chili Peppers
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro
  • 1 Tsp Garlic
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Use Chile de Arbol peppers and adjust quantity for desired spiciness: 1 for mild, 2 for medium, 3 for spicy.

  2. Roast the tomatoes, onion, and chili peppers on a griddle or comal for 10 minutes or until charred.

  3. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

  4. Chill for 30 minutes before serving.

  5. Serve with tortilla chips or your favorite Mexican dish.

  6. This recipe serves approximately 6 people, or fewer for larger portions.
