Authentic Simple Flavorful Roasted Salsa Roja
Ingredients
- 5 small/medium Tomatoes
- 1/2 White Onion
- 3 Arbol Chili Peppers
- 1/4 cup Cilantro
- 1 Tsp Garlic
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Preparation
Use Chile de Arbol peppers and adjust quantity for desired spiciness: 1 for mild, 2 for medium, 3 for spicy.
Roast the tomatoes, onion, and chili peppers on a griddle or comal for 10 minutes or until charred.
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
Serve with tortilla chips or your favorite Mexican dish.
This recipe serves approximately 6 people, or fewer for larger portions.
