Homemade Turkey Sage Sausages
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or preferred cooking fat
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Heat one tablespoon of coconut oil or preferred cooking fat in a skillet on medium heat. Add 1/4 cup minced onion and cook for about 5 minutes. Add 4 cloves minced garlic and 3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage. Cook for a couple of minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.
In a mixing bowl, place 2 pounds of ground turkey with 1 teaspoon salt. When onion mixture has cooled, add it to the meat and mix well with hands. Form into 12-14 patties.
Reheat one tablespoon of coconut oil or preferred cooking fat in a skillet on medium heat. Cook patties in batches for 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and completely cooked through.
