Vegan Fried Tofu with Sweet Chili Sauce

Ingredients

Tofu

  • Tofu, quantity as desired

Sweet chili sauce

  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar (Rice vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Sambal Oelek
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1.5 tablespoon Cornstarch

Preparation

Sweet chili sauce

  1. Add sugar, garlic and red chili flakes, water, vinegar, salt, ketchup, sambal oelek in a pan and bring it to boil.

  2. Mix cornstarch with little water to make a lump free mixture and add it slowly in the pan.

  3. Cook for 3-4 minutes until sauce thickens a bit.

  4. Remove the pan from heat and let it cool.

  5. Transfer in a glass bottle and refrigerate for about a month. Use as and when required.

Tofu and serving

  1. Chop and fry some tofu your favorite way.

  2. Then serve with this sauce.
