Grilled Vegan Cuban Sandwich with Jackfruit
Ingredients
- GF almond and rice bread
- soy free butter
- Cheddar slices
- jackfruit
- pickle slices
- organic yellow mustard
Seasonings
- smoked paprika
- liquid smoke
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- Himalayan salt
- pepper
- chili powder
Preparation
Drain the can of jackfruit and pull apart to shred, discarding any hard parts.
Melt 1/2 tablespoon of butter in a pan and saute the jackfruit with seasonings, using 1/2-1 teaspoon of each seasoning except liquid smoke, which is 1/4 teaspoon.
Saute the jackfruit until the seasonings are fully incorporated, about 5-10 minutes.
Use a grill pan or panini press to grill the bread and melt the cheese.
Assemble the sandwich by spreading mustard on each side and adding pickles.
