Pan-Fried Daikon Radish Buns
Ingredients
Dough
- 300g all-purpose flour
- 1 cup hot water
- a pinch of salt
Filling
- 7 cups shredded daikon radish (about 800g with skin on)
- 8oz firm tofu
- 1/2 cup chopped King oyster mushrooms
- 1/4 cup shredded carrot
- chopped cilantro
- rock sugar or sugar
- oil
Preparation
Mix the dough ingredients (flour, salt, and hot water) in a bowl, knead until smooth, and let rest for 30 minutes
Drain and cube the firm tofu, then pan-fry until golden brown
Shred the daikon radish if not already shredded, and chop the king oyster mushrooms, carrot, and cilantro
Sauté the chopped king oyster mushrooms, shredded carrot, and chopped cilantro in a pan, then combine with the shredded daikon radish, pan-fried tofu, and rock sugar or sugar to prepare the filling
Divide the dough into 9 equal portions, roll each into a circle, add the filling, and seal to form buns
Pan-fry the buns in oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides
