Crispy Tofu Tenders

Ingredients

  • cornstarch
  • plant based milk, unsweetened
  • 400g (14oz) Extra firm tofu
  • 2,5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • black pepper
  • dried basil
  • hot sauce + melted vegan butter
  • dip: vegan mayo and bbq sauce

Preparation

  1. Cut the tofu into sticks and put between paper towels. Place some weights over the tofu, let drain for about 15 min

  2. Preheat oven to 220c (425f)

  3. Put the cornstarch in one bowl, the plant milk in a second bowl, and mix together panko, oil, paprika, salt, pepper and dried basil in a third bowl. Pour the crumb mixture onto a plate

  4. Dip the tofu sticks first in cornstarch then in milk and then roll in crumb mix and place to lined baking sheet. Bake in a oven for 25 min, flip and bake for 15 min until the tofu is crispy

  5. Brush tofu sticks with hot sauce + melted vegan butter mix and enjoy
