Crispy Baked Tofu Tenders with Dip
Ingredients
- 400g (14oz) extra firm tofu
- Cornstarch
- Unsweetened plant-based milk
- 1 cup panko-style bread crumbs
- 2.5 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Black pepper
- Dried basil
- Hot sauce
- Vegan butter
Dip
- Vegan mayonnaise
- BBQ sauce
Preparation
Cut the tofu into sticks and put between paper towels. Place some weights over the tofu, let drain for about 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
Put the cornstarch in one bowl, the plant milk in a second bowl, and mix together panko, oil, paprika, salt, pepper and dried basil in a third bowl. Pour the crumb mixture onto a plate.
Dip the tofu sticks first in cornstarch then in milk and then roll in crumb mixture and place onto a lined baking sheet.
Bake in an oven for 25 minutes, flip and bake for a further 15 minutes until the tofu is crispy.
Brush tofu sticks with hot sauce and melted vegan butter mix and enjoy.
