Falafel Waffles


  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup packed fresh cilantro
  • 2 t ground cumin
  • 1 t sea salt
  • 2 gloves garlic
  • 1 cup chick pea flour/bessan
  • 1/2 -1 cup water


  1. Preheat waffle iron

  2. Put first 5 ingredients in food processor and pulse until broken down into small bits

  3. Scrape down sides and add chick pea flour

  4. Add water, starting with 1/2 cup and process mixture again

  5. If the mix is still dry in parts, add water and process again until it has the texture of very thick cake batter

  6. Spray or brush some oil on your waffle iron (I used coconut oil) onto your waffle maker and spread the batter on

  7. Follow your waffle iron instructions and cook until brown and crispy on the outside

  8. Enjoy!! Serving size depends on your waffle iron! Mine made 4 large waffles
