Vegan Mushroom Lovers Pizza
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cane sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons dry active yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon corn meal
Toppings
- homemade tomato basil sauce
- kumato tomatoes
- chive flowers
- portobello mushrooms
- shiitake mushrooms
- baby bella mushrooms
- white beech mushrooms
- radish sprouts
Preparation
In a bowl whisk together the water, sugar and yeast until well incorporated and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until a foamy layer forms.
Add the flour, olive oil, rosemary and salt, then knead together until you have a moist and elastic dough, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it sit in a warm, dark spot until doubled in size, about 30 to 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 450°F and dust a pizza pan with cornmeal, then transfer the dough to the pan and flatten it evenly before letting it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
Add your toppings of choice and dust the crust with more cornmeal for maximum crispiness.
Bake the pizza in the oven for 10 to 11 minutes or until the crust is golden.
