Homemade Vegan BBQ Ribs
Ingredients
- 1 cup vital wheat gluten
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- a good pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 3/4 cup vegetable stock
For brushing
- 1/2 cup bbq sauce
To serve
- Fries
- Roast tomatoes
- Little pot of bbq sauce
Preparation
Put all the ingredients apart from the bbq sauce in a bowl and mix together into a ball.
Do not be afraid to use your hands to knead it if it is misbehaving.
Place the mixture onto a lightly greased oven tray and stretch it into the desired shape; if it is a little unruly, do not be surprised.
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 180℃ (356℉).
Remove the dish, brush with the bbq sauce, and bake for a further 5 minutes.
Remove from the oven, cut into ribs, and serve immediately with fries, roast tomatoes, and a pot of bbq sauce for dipping.
