Easy Cheesy Dauphinoise Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1kg peeled and finely sliced potatoes 2-3mm thick
  • 500ml double cream
  • 2 medium cloves crushed garlic
  • 100g gruyere/cheddar/parmesan cheese
  • salt & freshly cracked black pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees

  2. In a small pan on low, warm through the cream and garlic add pinch of salt and crack of black pepper, then turn off the heat

  3. Layer half the potatoes into your baking dish, slightly overlapping as you go and evenly pour over half the cream mixture

  4. Layer the remaining potatoes and pour over the remaining cream mix

  5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and put in the oven for 60 mins, remove the foil, then evenly scatter over the grated cheese of your choice and pop back in the oven for 15 mins or until golden brown
