Crispy Southern Fried Tofu Dippers with Bbq Sauce

Ingredients

  • 200g pressed firm tofu
  • 4 tsp Southern-Style spice mix
  • 40g fine oats
  • Sea salt
  • 20g gram flour
  • 100ml plant milk
  • Oil for frying
  • BBQ sauce
  • Ketchup

Preparation

  1. Cut the tofu into 5 strips and set aside.

  2. In a bowl, mix the oats, a pinch of sea salt, and the Southern-Style spice mix.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the plant milk and gram flour until you have a thick, egg-like batter.

  4. Dip each tofu strip into the batter, then coat it thoroughly with the oat mixture.

  5. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over high heat.

  6. Fry each side of the coated tofu strips for 2-3 minutes, until crispy and golden.

  7. Once fried, place the tofu dippers on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

  8. Serve the crispy tofu dippers with smoked hickory & oak BBQ sauce and ketchup.
