Crispy Southern Fried Tofu Dippers with Bbq Sauce
Ingredients
- 200g pressed firm tofu
- 4 tsp Southern-Style spice mix
- 40g fine oats
- Sea salt
- 20g gram flour
- 100ml plant milk
- Oil for frying
- BBQ sauce
- Ketchup
Preparation
Cut the tofu into 5 strips and set aside.
In a bowl, mix the oats, a pinch of sea salt, and the Southern-Style spice mix.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the plant milk and gram flour until you have a thick, egg-like batter.
Dip each tofu strip into the batter, then coat it thoroughly with the oat mixture.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan over high heat.
Fry each side of the coated tofu strips for 2-3 minutes, until crispy and golden.
Once fried, place the tofu dippers on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Serve the crispy tofu dippers with smoked hickory & oak BBQ sauce and ketchup.
