Easy Homemade Soft Milk Rolls for Breakfast
Ingredients
- 250 ml milk
- 80 g butter
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1/2 cube fresh yeast (21g)
- 1 large egg
For greasing and brushing
- butter for greasing the pan and for serving
- flour for dusting
- 2-3 tbsp milk for brushing
Preparation
Warm the milk and melt the butter in it
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt
Crumble the yeast into the dry ingredients
Add the warm milk mixture and the egg to the dry ingredients
Knead with dough hooks for about 5 minutes until a smooth dough forms
Cover and let rest for at least 45 minutes until the volume doubles
Grease a baking sheet or casserole dish (about 30x20 cm) with butter
Divide the dough into 10 equal portions on a lightly floured work surface
Shape the dough portions into elongated rolls and place them in the prepared dish with some space between
Cover and let rest for another 15 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180°C conventional or 160°C convection
Brush the rolls with milk
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes
Before serving, brush with melted butter
Tips
For chocolate milk rolls, fill each dough portion with 1 teaspoon of chocolate cream
After baking, drizzle with melted chocolate
