Quick and Easy Homemade Burger Buns

Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cube fresh yeast
  • 70 g softened butter
  • 200 ml lukewarm water
  • flour, for dusting
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • white and black sesame seeds, for sprinkling

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt; crumble in the yeast

  2. Add softened butter and lukewarm water; knead with a dough hook on high speed for 3 minutes until smooth

  3. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes

  4. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C convection)

  5. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface and divide into 12 portions

  6. Roll each portion into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them

  7. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes

  8. Whisk the egg with milk

  9. Brush the buns with the egg mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds

  10. Bake for about 20 minutes

Tips

  1. For colorful burger buns, mix 2 tablespoons tomato paste into the dough for red buns or add 1-2 teaspoons turmeric for yellow buns
