Mama's Homemade French Baguette

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 cup (300ml) lukewarm water
  • 10g fresh yeast or 3g instant yeast
  • a pinch of sugar
  • 3 cups (380g) flour
  • 1 Tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°C/480°F.

  2. Whisk the water, yeast, and sugar together to combine.

  3. Add the flour and salt, then knead until it forms a dough; it will be sticky.

  4. Let the dough rest for 90 minutes.

  5. Generously flour a working surface and the dough.

  6. Divide the dough into two parts and place on a lined baking tray.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
