Easy Homemade Crispy Crust Baguettes
Ingredients
- 400 g all-purpose flour (Type 405)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1/4 cube fresh yeast
- 270 ml lukewarm water
- some flour for dusting
Preparation
Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl
Crumble the yeast into the mixture
Add 270ml lukewarm water
Knead until no flour is visible
Cover and let rest for 2 hours
Pour the dough onto a well-floured work surface
Divide the dough into two parts using a dough scraper or knife
Shape each piece into a 40 cm long strand
Place the strands on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Dust with flour and let rest covered until the oven is preheated to 230°C (convection: 210°C)
Place a porcelain vessel filled with water on the bottom of the oven
Slash the baguettes as desired
Bake for 25-30 minutes
Remove the baguettes on the parchment paper from the baking sheet
Let cool on a wire rack
Serving suggestion
Serve as a perfect side with grilled foods
