Homemade Pizza Dough for Custom Toppings
Ingredients
- 250 ml lukewarm water
- 1 cube fresh yeast
- 1 pinch sugar
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 500 g all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Fill a measuring cup with 250 ml lukewarm water
Crumble the yeast into the water and mix with a pinch of sugar and salt
Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Place the flour and salt in a bowl
Pour the liquid and oil over the flour
Knead with a hand mixer for at least 5 minutes or by hand for at least 10 minutes
Knead for a few more minutes with your hands until the dough is smooth
Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rise in a warm place at about 35°C for 40 minutes
Divide the dough in half and roll out into rounds of about 28 to 30 cm in diameter on a floured surface
Preheat the oven to 240°C (convection: 220°C)
Line two standard baking sheets (38x45 cm) with parchment paper
Place the dough rounds on the baking sheets and press them into the edges
Top the pizza dough with tomato sauce and your favorite toppings
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes
Tips
If you don't have fresh yeast, substitute one cube of fresh yeast with 2 packets of dry yeast and knead for 2 to 3 minutes longer
