Traditional Brazilian Colonial Bread
Ingredients
- 500ml warm milk
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup oil
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 20g fresh yeast
- 1kg all-purpose flour
Preparation
In the bowl of a mixer, combine warm milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and fresh yeast. Beat at very low speed with the dough hook
Gradually add the flour until the dough comes together. Beat for about 5 minutes
Place a cup of water in the microwave and heat for 2 minutes
Place the bowl with the dough inside the microwave and let it rest until doubled in volume
Divide the dough into four parts and shape each into a roll
Place the rolls in a bread pan, brush with beaten egg, and let rise until doubled in volume
Bake in a preheated oven at 230Β°C for approximately 20 minutes, until golden brown
