Traditional Brazilian Colonial Bread

Ingredients

  • 500ml warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 20g fresh yeast
  • 1kg all-purpose flour

Preparation

  1. In the bowl of a mixer, combine warm milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and fresh yeast. Beat at very low speed with the dough hook

  2. Gradually add the flour until the dough comes together. Beat for about 5 minutes

  3. Place a cup of water in the microwave and heat for 2 minutes

  4. Place the bowl with the dough inside the microwave and let it rest until doubled in volume

  5. Divide the dough into four parts and shape each into a roll

  6. Place the rolls in a bread pan, brush with beaten egg, and let rise until doubled in volume

  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 230Β°C for approximately 20 minutes, until golden brown
