Simple Homemade Bread with Amazing Dough
Ingredients
- 250 ml warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon sugar (20g)
- 1 teaspoon salt (3g)
- 5 g dry yeast (1/2 packet) or 15 g fresh yeast
- 100 ml oil
- 1/2 tablespoon margarine
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg for brushing
Preparation
In a large bowl, pour the warm milk and add the yeast
Mix well until the yeast is dissolved
Add the oil, margarine, egg, salt, and sugar
Mix well until the ingredients are well combined
Gradually add the flour, initially stirring with a spoon and then with your hands
When the dough is consistent, transfer it to a smooth surface and continue adding flour gradually and kneading until homogeneous
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes
Place the dough back in the bowl and cover with a cloth or plastic wrap
Let it rest for 30 minutes
Shape the dough into small rolls as desired
Arrange the small rolls in a greased and floured pan, leaving 2 cm space between each
Cover again and let rest for another 40 minutes
Lightly beat the egg and brush on top of the rolls
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C until golden
Tips
If it is very cold, let the dough rest in a turned-off oven for the first rise
Shape the rolls into balls for a classic look
