Easy Holiday Sugar Cookies with Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c butter
  • 1 c sugar (could also use monk fruit sweetener for a low sugar option)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Frosting mix

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp almond milk or regular milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp ghee

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400.

  2. Mix the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly.

  3. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt separately, then blend in with eggs, butter, sugar, and vanilla.

  4. You may want to chill the dough for 1/2-1 hour to firm up.

  5. Roll dough to 1/8" thick on a lightly floured board and cut out with cookie cutters.

  6. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes or until a light golden color.

  7. Set aside to cool before frosting or decorating.

Frosting

  1. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. Shouldn’t be too runny. Add more sugar if it is or more milk if it’s too thick.
