Baked Apple Cinnamon Protein Donuts
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vanilla fermented protein powder
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed
- 1/4 cup sugar of choice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup non-dairy milk
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1.5 tbsp maple syrup
Preparation
Sift together all dry ingredients.
Stir in the milk, applesauce, and coconut oil, and combine well.
If the batter is too thick, add a tablespoon more milk, depending on the humidity level of your flour.
Scoop the batter and fill a silicone or greased donut pan three-quarters full.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
Let the donuts cool completely.
To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Dip the top of each donut in the glaze and let it set for 5 to 10 minutes.
