Baked Apple Cinnamon Protein Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vanilla fermented protein powder, #genuinehealth
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1/4 cup sugar of choice (i like using brown sugar for these)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup non-dairy milk (+ a tbsp more if dough seems too thick)
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp maple syrup .

Preparation

  1. Sift together all dry ingredients

  2. Stir in milk, apple sauce, coconut oil and combine well

  3. If batter is a little too thick add a tbsp more milk (depends on the humidity level of your flour)

  4. Scoop batter and fill a silicon or grease donut pan 3/4 full

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees f for 20 minutes

  6. Lets cool completely

  7. To glaze; whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup

  8. Dip the top of each donut in the glaze and let set for 5-10 minutes
