Homemade Cherry Jam with Fresh Fruit

Ingredients

  • 12 cups pitted cherries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 grated apple with skin on
  • 4 tablespoons arrowroot starch

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add cherries and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.

  2. Then add granulated sugar, apple, and cook for 10 minutes more.

  3. Mix arrowroot starch with 1 tablespoon cold water to form a paste.

  4. Add the paste to the cherry mixture.

  5. Bring to a low boil and cook for 10 minutes.

  6. Pour into sterilized jam jars and seal.
