Easy Saucy Ramen Noodles

Ingredients

  • 2 uncooked ramen bricks (70g each) or noodles of choice
  • Spring onions and sesame seeds, for topping

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup room temperature water
  • 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce, adjust according to desired taste
  • 1.5-2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup or other liquid sweetener, adjust according to desired sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil

Preparation

  1. Mix all the sauce ingredients until well incorporated.

  2. Boil water and add the ramen or other noodles of choice, cooking until half done or chewy.

  3. While the noodles are cooking, heat a pan and add the sauce, then leave to simmer over medium heat.

  4. Add the noodles to the sauce and mix well, then cook over medium high heat until the noodles absorb the sauce and it thickens. Enjoy while hot.
