Spiced Turmeric Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 2 cloves
  • 5-6 peppercorns crushed
  • an inch stick cinnamon or 1/4tsp ground
  • 1/2 an inch ginger crushed
  • a tiny amount of nutmeg scraping
  • 1/2 a teaspoon turmeric (you may add more)
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • splash of vanilla
  • few saffron strands

Preparation

  1. Bring all the above spices except saffron and vanilla to a rolling boil with 1/2 a cup of water or almond milk to infuse the flavours. Add the 1 cup of almond milk and simmer until it's slightly reduced. Turn off the flame .strain the milk and add the saffron , vanilla and sweetener of your choice and enjoy

  2. If using vanilla pods you can add it with all the spices at the beginning

  3. Coconut sugar and coconut nectar can split the milk when it's very hot. You might consider using something else

  4. This recipe kicks in a punch you can go easy on the spices if you prefer
