Simple Grape Galette with Spiced Filling

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups spelt flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or margarine
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup water or as needed
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Filling

  • 2 cups grapes
  • 4 tbsp raw sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Place the flour, sugar, salt, and oil together and mix to make a crumbly texture, using hands or a food processor.

  2. Add water little by little to form dough, cover with cling wrap, and refrigerate for at least half an hour while preparing the filling.

  3. Wash the grapes, mix with raw sugar, ginger powder, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, and lemon juice; cover and let sit for half an hour to infuse spices.

  4. Take the dough out of the fridge, roll it out on a floured baking paper into a circle; if it doesn't come out perfect or falls apart, don't worry.

  5. Top the galette with the grape mixture, sprinkle extra raw sugar on top, fold the edges, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Enjoy with your favorite ice cream or coconut whipped cream.
