Pizza for Presiden

Ingredients

  • For the dough
  • 1 packet of dry active yeast
  • 1 tsp of sugar (we used coconut sugar)
  • 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 tbs of olive oil
  • For the sauce
  • 1/2 tsp of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/4 of a yellow onion chopped
  • 2 vine ripe tomatoes pulped and chopped
  • 2 tbs of minced nicosie olives
  • 1/2 tsp of pink himalayan salt
  • 1 tbs sliced basil

Preparation

  1. Combine dry active yeast with sugar pour in warm water, stir until yeast is dissolved, let stand for 5 to 10 minutes

  3. In a separate bowl combine flour and olive oil, when yeast is ready (if yeast is not foamy start over) mix into dry ingredients

  4. Knead dough on flat surface, coat the bowl you just used with a dash of olive oil, place dough back in bowl, cover with a small towel and set in a warm room for two hours

  5. In a pan on medium heat add olive oil, garlic, and onion, once garlic is fragrant add tomatoes, olives, and salt, reduce heat on low and allow to simmer for 10 minutes, then add basil

  6. Preheat oven to 375°, grab dough, it should have expanded to a little less than double the size

  7. Lay dough on pizza pan, top with pizza sauce and add desired toppings (we used portobello mushroom seasoned with salt, pepper, oregano, and added fresh spinach rolled in olive oil and balsamic vinegar)

  8. Bake for 15 minutes then allow to cool for 5 minutes, garnish with red pepper and nutritional yeast flakes and enjoy???? #threebunnies
