Pretzel Crust Pizza

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spelt flour
  • 2/3 cup warm water (not hot water or you might kill the yeast!)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast (7gr)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cane sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp baking soda + 3 tbsp water

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the warm water with the sugar and the yeast until it dissolves for a few minutes.

  2. Combine the flour with the salt.

  3. Add the coconut oil and the yeast mixture.

  4. Combine and knead for at least 3-4 minutes.

  5. Put back in the bowl and let double in size for about 30 minutes.

  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  7. Roll out the pizza dough.

  8. Combine the hot water with the baking soda and brush the edges of the pizza. Drizzle with sea salt.

  9. Add tomato sauce, vegan cheese, or your desired toppings.

  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
